Inspire a lifelong love of nature through immersive outdoor adventure

For Year 3 and 4 students, a shorter school residential trip designed for younger children can be the perfect introduction to outdoor learning and adventure. Children still experience the excitement of being away from home with their class, but without the higher costs and timetable disruption that often comes with a longer stay.

An inspiring first school trip experience

A Rootd school residential trip for Years 3 and 4 is great fun for children and focuses on building confidence and resilience through a range of challenging, nature-based activities.

Working closely together, children have a chance to test themselves away from the classroom and develop important life skills, including:

  • Listening skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Social skills
  • Teambuilding

Children will leave their one or two-night stay feeling proud of their achievements and inspired to go on and explore more of the great outdoors.

What you get with a Rootd trip for years 3 & 4

Cosy all-year-round accommodation in woodland locations

Within an hour of Central London, our woodland centres are easily accessible from London and the South East, which means quick travel times and happier children. Instead of spending hours cooped up on a coach, they can make the most of their time exploring the outdoors.

And they’ll love where they stay. In the warmer months they can get the real camping experience in our spacious bell tents, complete with bunk beds and flooring.

When it’s colder, our indoor accommodation is perfect for getting cosy after a busy day in the outdoors.
