If you’re travelling from Central London, you can reach our centre in under an hour.

This keeps travel times to a minimum, so children spend less time cooped up on a coach and more time enjoying the great outdoors.

Accommodation all-year-round

The accommodation at our Hertfordshire site is suitable for all seasons, so you can enjoy your residential trips whatever the weather.

From May to October, our bell tents are perfect for adding an extra sense of adventure to your residential trips. And from November to April, our lodges keep children warm and cosy after a busy day in the outdoors.

Our activity centre in Hertfordshire offers a great range of activities suitable for primary and secondary school children.

The woodland setting is ideal for both adrenaline-fuelled activities and more back-to-basics Bushcraft skills, and it’s also the perfect location for a cosy evening sing-along around the campfire.

Accommodation at our Hertfordshire activity centre

With bell tents available for the warmer months, and woodland lodges for the colder months, our Hertfordshire centre is set up for residential trips throughout the year.

To enhance the outdoor adventure experience for children, our choice of innovative, exciting and cosy accommodation provides schools with a unique residential experience.

Adventures under canvas

  • Pupil tents
    Each bell tent sleeps six children in comfortable bunk beds. Coir matting underfoot keeps everyone warm and dry, and there’s plenty of room under the beds to store belongings.
  • Teacher tents
    Each teacher bell tent comes with two individual sleeping compartments to give you your own private space. And don’t worry, you’re not on bunk beds! A double thickness airbed will help you get a good night’s sleep.
  • Teacher chill-out area
    With seating, a fire pit and refreshments, this is a great place to relax at the end of the day.
  • Motion-sensored lighting system
    This automatically comes on when anyone gets out of bed.
  • Night toilets
    These are close by, so everyone can happily use the facilities whenever they need them.
  • Sheltered areasThere are plenty of sheltered spots for you to use and a seating area with woodland benches for relaxing around the campfire.
  • Children’s chill-out areaFull of games for your students to enjoy, including upcycled table tennis tables and giant versions family games, there’s plenty to keep them entertained.
  • Lights out in our lodges

    Our lodges are the perfect place for children to relax after a busy day in the outdoors throughout the autumn and winter months.  The Avenue Lodge sleeps 16 and has a fully equipped kitchen, hall and ensuite bedrooms. There are two bedrooms sleeping six each, and two bedrooms sleeping two each.

    Rowan Lodge sleeps 38 and consists of a fully equipped kitchen, hall and ensuite bedrooms. There are two bedrooms sleeping three each and eight bedrooms sleeping four each.
