Get ready for an unforgettable school adventure

Welcome to our teacher information page
We know that choosing your residential trip provider can feel like a big responsibility, especially if you’re switching from a previous provider.
So here we’ve included all the information you need to feel reassured and excited about your Rootd adventure - safe in the knowledge that we have everything covered.
We’ve also included some useful resources to help you prepare for your trip and ensure you make the most of your time on camp.
An accredited trip provider

With years of experience running school residential trips, we know exactly how to create an amazing adventure for children in a safe and secure environment.
We hold the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) accreditation, which means we’ve been assessed against a rigorous framework that evaluates the quality, safety and educational value of our school residentials, as well as our safeguarding procedures and emergency planning.
All our activities are age-appropriate and risk assessed.
A safe and manageable adventure
Our residentials offer schools all the excitement of an outdoor adventure, in a comfortable and well-supported environment.
Your school will have exclusive use of your camp throughout your stay. Our bell tent and pod villages are located in a purpose-built activity centre, which is not open to members of the public. The only people on site during your stay will be the fully vetted centre staff, Rootd team and visiting schools.

To ensure everyone’s safe at night-time, our villages all have:
Night toilets and motion sensor lighting, so no one needs to leave the camp during the night.
Teacher accommodation positioned opposite the children’s accommodation.
A teacher tipi with 360-degree views of the camp, where teachers can relax in the evening as the children go to sleep.
A designated Rootd staff member on site overnight to support teachers.

An experienced, highly trained team
Our experienced instructors are fantastic at getting to know every child in their group, and they share their knowledge and expertise generously with children.
We continually invest in their training, so they can deliver all activities to the highest standard and stay up to date on the latest guidance and legislation.
Every team member holds:
Help launching your trip to parents
Coordinating sign-up to your trip may feel challenging, especially if you’re seeing growing anxiety among parents and children about residential trips - as we know many schools are.
So, we do all we can to help you answer parents’ concerns and encourage as many parents as possible to sign their child up to the trip.
Here’s how we help:

Support for children with special educational needs (SEN)
During the trip, our friendly and experienced staff will do all they can to support children with additional needs and make sure they feel included.
We offer teachers the opportunity to visit us before the trip, so you can plan ahead and talk to children about what to expect before they arrive on camp. Children with additional needs can also visit us beforehand, so they can familiarise themselves with the grounds and facilities.
