Welcome to our teacher information page

We know that choosing your residential trip provider can feel like a big responsibility, especially if you’re switching from a previous provider.

So here we’ve included all the information you need to feel reassured and excited about your Rootd adventure - safe in the knowledge that we have everything covered.

We’ve also included some useful resources to help you prepare for your trip and ensure you make the most of your time on camp.

An accredited trip provider

Buggy build on a Rootd Adventure

With years of experience running school residential trips, we know exactly how to create an amazing adventure for children in a safe and secure environment.

We hold the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) accreditation, which means we’ve been assessed against a rigorous framework that evaluates the quality, safety and educational value of our school residentials, as well as our safeguarding procedures and emergency planning.

All our activities are age-appropriate and risk assessed.

A safe and manageable adventure

Our residentials offer schools all the excitement of an outdoor adventure, in a comfortable and well-supported environment.

Your school will have exclusive use of your camp throughout your stay.  Our bell tent and pod villages are located in a purpose-built activity centre, which is not open to members of the public. The only people on site during your stay will be the fully vetted centre staff, Rootd team and visiting schools.

Help launching your trip to parents

Coordinating sign-up to your trip may feel challenging, especially if you’re seeing growing anxiety among parents and children about residential trips - as we know many schools are.

So, we do all we can to help you answer parents’ concerns and encourage as many parents as possible to sign their child up to the trip.

    Here’s how we help:

We have a parent-friendly payment structure in place to help parents manage the cost of the trip
We send you a comprehensive parent guide to help you launch your trip, which answers any questions parents may have on health and safety, our accreditations or our on-site safety measures
We can visit your school and deliver a presentation to parents to introduce Rootd and encourage pupil participation
We share tips and advice for parents on how to prepare their child for their trip. Read our blog here.

Support for children with special educational needs (SEN)

During the trip, our friendly and experienced staff will do all they can to support children with additional needs and make sure they feel included.

We offer teachers the opportunity to visit us before the trip, so you can plan ahead and talk to children about what to expect before they arrive on camp. Children with additional needs can also visit us beforehand, so they can familiarise themselves with the grounds and facilities.
