Give pupils a first outdoor residential trip to remember

A Rootd school residential trip for Year 3 is the perfect introduction to outdoor residentials for younger children. With most Year 3 groups staying in our woodland pods, children experience all the excitement of an outdoor adventure with the reassurance of a warm and cosy sleeping environment.

Our Year 3 nature activities are designed to encourage children to explore the woodland and discover the wonders of nature, while building confidence and developing important life skills such as problem solving and teamwork.

What’s included in a Rootd Year 3 school residential trip?

With our flexible activity programmes, we offer a number of options to help you meet your trip objectives:

1. A nature-based night away

On this one-night residential, children take part in a range of nature-focused activities, such as shelter building, navigating a nature trail and tree identification, before enjoying songs and hot chocolate around the campfire.

3. A two-night adventure

If you’re looking for a longer stay, adventurous activities such as the Cresta toboggan run and nightline, or nature-based experiences, such as a woodland scavenger hunt, can be added to your activity programme to give you three action-packed days of outdoor adventure.

Adventurous accommodation

With woodland pods that are great for autumn and spring, and spacious bell tents that are perfect for summer, we can welcome you all year round.

Heating and bunk beds in our pods make them ideal for younger children who may be spending their first night away from home, while our bell tents give children a real sense of freedom and being close to nature in the warmer months.
