Build a fulfilling future in the outdoors
Enjoy a wide range of benefits and rewards

As an independent, family-run business, we’re a close-knit team and we believe in rewarding our staff well for the great work they do.
So, when you join the team, here’s what you can expect:
Great pay
Our salaries are among the best in the industry. We ensure our pay matches similar roles outside of outdoor education, because we want our staff to feel valued and proud of their work.
No weekend working
Our residential trips run between Monday and Friday, so there’s no requirement for you to work on weekends. Leading outdoor adventures can be exhausting, so we’d prefer you to have a few days to relax and recharge before the next one!
Part of a supportive team

Fantastic benefits
When you join us, you’ll also receive a whole range of additional benefits, including:
- Free meals and onsite accommodation (when required)
- 8 weeks holiday per year
- Company pension
- Private medical insurance
- Bonus scheme and profit sharing
- Company events
Year-round contracts
Although our trips run from February to November, our contracts are year-round. We know that the best people don’t hibernate in winter, so we’ll get you helping with other parts of the business. Whether you want to develop new trip programmes or you’d like to support our marketing activity, when our camps are closed, you’ll be encouraged to try new things and develop your talents.
First-class training and development
Once you’re part of the Rootd team, we’ll support you however we can, to hone your skills and progress in your career. We provide excellent training opportunities and promote from within, giving you the chance to discover your strengths and broaden your horizons.
Opportunities for growth
We have some exciting plans for Rootd in the coming year as we look to expand our business and accommodate even more schools. This means more opportunities for our staff to develop their skills and take on greater responsibility in outdoor education.
