A personal alternative to big trip providers

Finding the fun and adventure in every moment

At Rootd, we see first-hand the positive impact nature and outdoor adventure can have on a child’s wellbeing and development, and we think it’s something every child should have the chance to experience. But this doesn’t just mean conquering the high ropes and scaling walls, it means going back to basics – building shelters, lighting campfires and exploring the natural environment.

We believe that every child, regardless of their background, should have access to the outdoors and the opportunity to experience adventures in nature. This means we offer bespoke trips for all needs and budgets. And the price we quote is the final price – there are no unexpected or hidden extras.

School Trip organisers with a difference

We’ve been working with schools delivering outdoor adventures for over 12 years, so we know what gets children motivated and how to get the best out of them. Every trip is designed to make the most of nature, and we work closely with you to tailor the trip to meet your needs.

We believe there are three things that sets Rootd apart from other residential school trip providers.

1. Our unique woodland villages

Many residential centres have old-style accommodation that is tired, and uninspiring. From our bell-tents with bunk beds, chill-out spaces, games and teacher areas to our cosy woodland pods decorated with nature murals and indoor spaces that are designed to “bring the outside in”, our accommodation options form a big part of the adventure.

2. Our people

We couldn’t deliver the unique trips we do without our highly trained and dedicated team.  With the groups from breakfast to bedtime, our Rootd group leaders work together to make the trips as inspiring and memorable as they can for every child.

They don’t just stand on the sidelines watching the children, they get stuck in and work alongside them. They’re great at really connecting with students, and it’s often our team that children talk about long after the trip is over.

3. Our activities

We don’t just offer days of back-to-back activities taking children from one harness to another.  From Survivor Bushcraft, building shelters and lighting fires to learning more about the British woodland and wildlife in our Explorer sessions, our trips provide the opportunity for children to engage with each other and the outdoors.

So when children come on a Rootd trip, they return home feeling tired, inspired and full of amazing stories to tell!
