Where children thrive in nature and make lifelong memories

The summer holidays are the perfect time for children to take a break from screens, get outside and have great adventures with their friends. On our Rootd adventure days for children aged 7 to 11 years old, that’s exactly what they do!

Whether you’re looking for childcare while you work or simply fun holiday activities for your child, our themed adventure days offer an exciting, engaging way for children to get active and thrive in the outdoors.

Not your typical holiday club

A Rootd adventure day offers you something far beyond the typical holiday club experience. Instead of the usual activities, children get the chance to challenge themselves with exciting experiences like high ropes, shelter building, campfire cooking and abseiling.

It’s a great opportunity for them to try something completely new, step out of their comfort zone and discover new skills and talents. So, as well as having a great time on their adventure day, they’ll also be growing in confidence, building independence and creating lasting memories.

An immersive summer adventure

Children love our adventure days for a variety of reasons:

The freedom to explore and be active

The sense of adventure and discovery

Having fun with friends and making new friends

A break from screens and their daily routine

A boost to their mood and wellbeing

    Themed Adventure Days

Depending on your child’s interests, when you book an adventure day with us you can choose from one of our three themed adventure days.

    Wild Survivors

    Confidence and independence
    Environmental awareness

Children are fully immersed in the natural environment as they learn the essential survival skills needed to thrive in the outdoors, such as fire making, shelter building and outdoor cooking.

Their adventure continues as they’re introduced to the wonders of the British woodland through foraging or animal tracking.

With team challenges and adrenaline-fuelled activities, children get to know each other and work together on this action-packed day.

Whether they’re building a buggy, navigating our underground tunnels or competing in the crate stack challenge, children will discover just what can be achieved when they work as a team.

    Nature Explorers

    Nature-based skills
    Environmental awareness

Ideal for connecting pupils with the great outdoors, the day encourages children to explore the woodland and discover the many wonders that can be found in nature.

As they learn how to identify our local trees, search together for their favourite minibeast friends or take part in a team scavenger hunt, children connect with the natural environment and come away with a deeper appreciation of the British woodland.
